Grinds - Grind Rules
If a student is missing for any reason, then he/she will have to pay for two weeks the following week. The deposit cannot be used to pay for the week missed as all student records must be kept up to date. The teacher will, however, inform the student as to what he/she covered in the grind. All deposits are used to cover the last three grinds in 2017 (or the last two weeks regarding fortnightly grinds).
The College has a policy of not giving credit, and to this end, all grinds must be paid for to the teacher at the grind. It is also possible for a student to pay for a number of grinds in advance; again payment for this should be made to the teacher at the grind.
Should you decide that your son/daughter, for whatever reason, is unable to continue to attend a grind, four weeks notice in writing must be handed to the grind teacher. The student must pay for the grind on the week that this notice is handed in and the deposit can then be offset against the following three weeks.
On a rare occasion, a teacher may be unable to attend the grind due to circumstances outside their control (e.g. parent/teacher meeting in their school). In these cases, we will endeavour to inform you well in advance of any change in time or date of grind and the change will be made in consultation with pupils if this is possible.
